Scholarships and Grant Opportunities

Manoa Opportunity Grant

Award amount: Up to $4,000 and is dependent upon tuition charged and enrollment status. Funding is limited, preference is given to students who meet the FAFSA priority deadline of February 1st and are a State of Hawai’i resident. The grant will be prorated based upon your enrollment in UH Mānoa courses applicable toward your degree when not full-time. (Please see Registration page for definition of full -time) Courses taken at other UH campuses do not count towards enrollment for this grant.

Pacific Islander Opportunity Grant

Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program Entering Research and Creative Work (ERC) Funding
UROP provides the merit-based Entering Research and Creative Work (ERC) funding opportunity to motivated UHM undergraduate students with little to no research or creative work experience who successfully submit an ERC Funding Application. It provides a stipend of $1,500 per semester, up to a maximum of $3,000 for two semesters and is intended for students early in their academic careers who have more than 60 credits remaining in their bachelor’s degree program.

LGBTQ Student Scholarship
Open to undergraduate and graduate LGBTQ students for financial support, leadership development, and access to mentoring. Apply by December 5th.

STAR Scholarships
STAR helps students find scholarships they are best eligible for and facilitate the application process online. Mānoa academic departments select the candidates that receive the scholarships.

UHM Psychology Department Undergraduate Award Opportunities
The Department of Psychology has limited funds to award to Undergraduate students majoring in psychology who have demonstrated excellence in research or academic achievement. If you fall into either of these categories, you are encouraged to apply for this scholarship fund. A limited number of outstanding applicants will be awarded stipends valued up to $500 (budget pending).

Internship Opportunities

Keala Paid Internship with Hui 'Aina Pilipili

Contact: intern@hawaii.edu | Internships are part-time during the Spring 2024 semester. Under the supervision of the Native Hawaiian Coordinator of Hui ʻĀina Pilipili and partner internship supervisor, interns will assist internship sponsors with dedicated community and research projects related to Native Hawaiian and Pacific Island issues and communities. Health Consulting Summer Intern 2024

State of Hawai'i Hele Mua Internship

Educational Opportunities

Bank of Hawaii Mentorship
Bank of Hawaii will be holding a mentorship program for those who are interested in being paired up with a real life professional. Through this program, there will be many development opportunities such as resume workshops, mock interview, networking, etc. This program will run from October 2nd - November 13th. There are 5 spots reserved for FMA. If you're interested, speak to a board member at our next general meeting on how to proceed. View the guide below for more information.
