Dr. I Sak Kim
Having spent most of my life in Hawaiʻi, I have earned my degrees from UH Mānoa. Over the years, I’ve taught at UH Mānoa, community colleges, and various high schools, and I now serve as a psychology instructor. My research focuses on human perception and attention using computers and VR. I’m passionate about mentoring students, calisthenics, acrobatics, and serving my two cats, and I’m excited to support Psi Chi’s commitment to academic excellence in psychology.

Julissa Lui
Hi everyone! My name is Julissa and I am the current President for the Fall '26 academic year. I have been a part of Psi Chi for 3 years, serving on the Executive Board for a year. I recently graduated from UH Mānoa with my bachelor's degree in Psychology, with a minor in Anthropology. I am returning this semester as a Master's student in Educational Psychology. My research interests are understanding preschool children's behaviors and thought processes through motivation. In my free time, I enjoy going to the North Shore with my friends, baking, and playing volleyball. I can't wait to meet all of you this semester and making lasting memories together!

Hello everyone, I’m Reese and I am in my third year at UH. I will be the Vice President of Psi Chi. I am very excited for this year as it is my last year at UH. I was born and raised in California. I have always been interested in Psychology so I’m so happy to be apart of Psi Chi. Along with my major in Psychology, I am minoring in Chinese. I’ve been learning Chinese for the past seven years. Another fun fact about me is that my favorite food is my mom’s tacos and Mexican food is the first thing I eat when I visit back home. If you ever see me around campus, I am probably listening to music way too loudly, so I am sorry in advance if I don’t see you. My usual album is Pure Heroine by Lorde. Looking forward to all the time left I have with Psi Chi. Thank you!

Maxine Phipps
Hi everyone! My name is Maxine, and I’ll be serving as the Director of Funding for Psi Chi! I’m currently in my final year at UH, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Dance. I’m originally from Florida and grew up as a military brat, so I’ve moved around quite a bit. Outside of school, I love going to the beach with friends, going on car rides while listening to music, and performing with my dance team. I’m really excited to be a part of Psi Chi and to see what we all achieve throughout this year, so please feel free to say hi if you see me around!

Janella Padilla
Hi everyone! My name is Janella and one thing about me is I L-O-V-E traveling. I’ve lived in 9 different places, and traveled to 15 different countries. In my spare time, I like baking (and forcing people to try it), video games and recently started loving sunrise hikes. If you know any good spots, let me know! I transferred to Hawaii from Germany, and I look forward to what this semester will bring.

Hello! My name is Hachi Takatsuka, and I will be serving as the Treasurer of Psi Chi! I was born and raised here on Oʻahu, and I am an undergraduate with majors in English, Psychology, and Political Science. In my free time, I love to read whatever I can get my hands on (let me know if you have any recommendations!), and, more recently, I’ve been making my way through the ever-growing list of movies and TV shows that everyone but me has seen (Legally Blonde is a new favorite).
