Dr. I Sak Kim

Having spent most of my life in Hawaiʻi, I have earned my degrees from UH Mānoa. Over the years, I’ve taught at UH Mānoa, community colleges, and various high schools, and I now serve as a psychology instructor. My research focuses on human perception and attention using computers and VR. I’m passionate about mentoring students, calisthenics, acrobatics, and serving my two cats, and I’m excited to support Psi Chi’s commitment to academic excellence in psychology.

Angelica Nelson

Aloha everyone! I’m Angelica, and I’m the President of our Psi Chi chapter for the remainder of this academic year. During my senior year as an undergraduate, I served as our chapter’s Director of Funding. I graduated from UH Mānoa in Spring 2025 with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Political Science, and I’m now a first-year MSW student, graduating in Spring 2027. I’m passionate about social work, education, and giving back to the community. I was born and raised in Wisconsin, served in the Marine Corps from 2018 to 2023, and moved to Oʻahu in May 2020. In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, traveling, spending time with friends, and going to the gym. It’s my privilege to get to know each of you and work together to advance the field of psychology. I can’t wait to see you all again!

Director of Media

Ryan Mitchum

Hello everyone! My name is Ryan Mitchum, and I will be the Director of Media for our Psi Chi chapter in Spring 2026. I am currently a junior at UH pursuing a B.A. in Psychology. My goal as Director of Media is not only to create engaging content but also to foster a sense of community for psychology majors here at UH. I am so excited to meet new people who share the same major as me! I genuinely believe that the connections we make in this chapter will help advance the field of psychology in the future. Personally, my experience as an infantryman in the Marines is what drew me to psychology. I hope to help fellow veterans who have had similar experiences to mine in the future.
