Scholarships and Grant Opportunities
UHM Academic Merit Scholarships
These scholarships are designed to recognize the academic strengths of admitted students. There is no separate application for students to be considered for these scholarships.
UHM Upper Level Scholarships
These are selective scholarship awards for students who are in their upper-level undergraduate years. To be considered for these scholarships, students must submit supplemental materials in addition to their admission application.
Manoa Opportunity Grant
Award amount: Up to $4,000 and is dependent upon tuition charged and enrollment status. Funding is limited, preference is given to students who meet the FAFSA priority deadline of February 1st and are a State of Hawai’i resident. The grant will be prorated based upon your enrollment in UH Mānoa courses applicable toward your degree when not full-time. (Please see Registration page for definition of full -time) Courses taken at other UH campuses do not count towards enrollment for this grant.
Pacific Islander Opportunity Grant
Award amount: Up to $4,000 based on your enrollment status. Funding is limited, preference will be given to those who meet the FAFSA priority deadline of February 1st. STAR Scholarships
STAR helps students find scholarships they are best eligible for and facilitate the application process online. Mānoa academic departments select the candidates that receive the scholarships.
Internship Opportunities

Through meaningful hands-on work experiences, combined with an enriching academic program, students gain an up-close view of state and federal government and gain skills, advance their careers in a variety of fields, and serve the community.

Placements are available in Hawaiʻi’s Senate and Congressional offices in Washington, D.C. and in Hawaiʻi, with Hawaiʻi’s Governor and Lieutenant Governor Office, with Hawaiʻi’s state prosecutor and public defender, and in other select district offices. Students who are selected for an internship will work 10–40 hours per week while earning 6–12 academic credits to maintain full-time student status. Applications are due March 15th and October 15th eve ccess were achievable, well worth the struggle, and didn’t slow their time to graduate.
LSAT, GRE Study Groups
MCAT, LSAT, and/or GRE study groups in Hamilton Library. These will be member-led! There are appropriate channels in Discord for each exam.
